Kharaj was land tax, imposed on the land of Hindus. Generally, it was not less than 1/3 and not more than 1/2 of the production.

Khams was 1/5th share for the Sultan from loot, mines or treasures buried in land. The remaining 4/5th part was entitled to its soldiers, officers etc.

Masahat was the method of land measurement, introduced by Alauddin Khilji.

Khwaja: Balban appointed an officer named Khwaja in Iqta to control the muqtis. He used to assess income of Iqta.
